Hey guys hope you all had a good memorial day.  I've got a d'artiste book of matte paintings, I'll bring it in for the next time we meet, its fun to flip through and some of the pictures just get you thinking up a whole world it'd be in, just for coming up with ideas. Here's a few;

PS - When do yall wanna meet up again?

Found this today and thought I'd share.
It's a neat little commercial utilizing 3D animation though I'm not sure if the beach is something composited on or modelled out.

I really like the way this utilizes transitions.  You never feel like you're being thrown into a wall and into the next idea.  it's a constant connection from one idea to the next.

I'm sure you've all seen this one already.  I think this one is an excellent example of composition.  Every shot really utilizes great camera angles to convey emotion and emphasize subject matter.

This short is brilliant in terms of body language and timing.  I never needed facial expressions to understand the emotion.  During my thesis project, I hid all the facial features while I was animating the bodies and it helped SO much to really nail the body movements.  This is something we should keep in mind -- bodies first, then face! :)

Here's my website that has examples of my stuff: www.ashleysouza.com.
"Starred Thought" was my senior thesis project and probably the best example of where I'm at in 3D world.  My demo reel takes about 5 years to load, but has examples of the lighting I did for my internship.
Woo!
Martin here, I'm throwing out some ideas for styles we could use.

So here are a couple different styles I thought I'd share, super realistic, gritty, cartoony cell-shaded, and mixed media.
Martin McD here, thought I'd share my demo reels with everyone.
